Illegal Dumping

In La Marque, the fine for illegal dumping is $500. With court fees it is $566. Keep La Marque Beautiful Commission and the Code Compliance Division work closely to combat illegal dumping in our city. Cameras have been installed at several parks and know dumping grounds across the city.



Section 1-7. - General penalty. Whenever in this Code or in any city ordinance or in any rule, regulation or order promulgated by any city officer or agency under authority vested in such officer or agency any act is prohibited or is made or declared to be unlawful or an offense or a misdemeanor, where no specific penalty is provided, the violation of any provision of this Code or of any specific ordinance, regulation, rule or order that governs or regulates fire, safety, zoning, public health or sanitation, including the dumping of refuse, shall be punished by a fine not exceeding $2,000.00. The violation of any other provision of this Code or any other ordinance, rule, regulation or order shall be punished by fine not exceeding $500.00, unless otherwise specifically stated in this Code. BULK TRASH and BRUSH that aren't picked up can be considered illegal dumping and can be cause for a citation.

Bulk collection will be at the curb, once-a-week, with a limit of 5 cubic yard. Please see bulk/brush collection map for details at

If Waste Management isn't picking up your bulk trash it could be too large or unsafe. Additional collection of bulk waste exceeding 5 cubic yard can be scheduled 24-hours prior to your bulk collection day for a fee.
